Heroes Unite, a 501©3 designated arts and cultural non-profit agency was established in Miami in 1999. Targeting special needs populations, within inclusive environments we empowered, entertained, enlightened and enriched over three hundred thousand participants. Our art and culturally based programs, projects and events were sustained for over twenty years through securing competitive grants, collegiate partnerships, business collaborations, programs, events and performances.
GOLD RAVEN INC.
Incorporated in 1989, Gold Raven Inc. has borne the mission to maintain and disseminate two Chinese art lineages dating back to the 5th century BC. President, Master Rubio is a direct disciple of Chueng Kune Pai and Bak Sui Lum as well as Master of Taoist Chi Gung, Yang & Chen Tai Chi and multiple styles of traditional Kung Fu. This community based school serves the general public but due to the healing nature of its services attracts oncology, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers and a myriad of trouble youth all seeking to improve themselves through these ancient arts. The transformation of all participants is palpable and appreciative testimonials abound.

MMT (Mobile Micro Theater) 2015-2017
Description:
Provided opportunities for local emerging artists to present fifteen-minute works in drama, dance, mime, opera and film within a school bus converted to a fully equipped thirty seat black box theater. The strategic plan enhanced the local arts landscape of Miami by providing paid employment for local artists to support residency, develop and contribute to their communities as well as build new audiences for live theater.

THE DRAGON GARDEN 2016
Description:
First community organic garden in the City of North Miami offering free plots, workshops and educational events for residents. Free field trips for over 600 public school students, grades 2 -5 to support Sunshine State Standards in science and math. Developed associated Farmers Market for residents staffed with volunteers from local Universities and North Miami Parks and Recreation Department to learn basic job skills.

ARTS FOR HEALING 2016
Description:
Produced free public ninety-minute performance inviting various speakers, presentations, performances and a Q&A with participants related to the benefits of art therapy and alternative medicine for overcoming illness.

Description:

Description:
Final graduation project for marketing seniors from Miami Dade College. Collaborated to produce a flash mob for the purpose of building community awareness of MLHB mission.

ARTS ALLIANCE 2012-2014
Description:
Inclusive enrichment program cultivating tolerance, expression and self-exploration utilizing fine art, computer animation, drama, cultural dance, music and academic tutoring. Students also constructed, studied and performed Taiko drumming in public and private events.

GIVING BACK GREEN 2011 – 2012
Description:
Environmental and arts enrichment program for grades 2-7 cultivating ecosystem awareness utilizing the arts of photography, gardening, recyclable art and academic tutoring. Children participated in monthly public recycled art exhibits.

SHAOLIN STUDIES AFTER SCHOOL 1999 - 2012
Description:
Enrichment program for grades 2-5 cultivating consciousness and self-respect for special needs children utilizing the arts of calligraphy, kung fu, chi gung, tai chi, mediation, academic tutoring and performance.

A.C.H.I.E.V.E. (Action Communities for Health, Innovation and Environmental Change) 2008
Description:
National initiative in collaboration with CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) selected representatives from the Senators, Mayors and Commissioners office, the non-profit (I was the representative) business and educational sectors were flown to Washington for a three day intensive training to evaluate, lobby and implement improvement in community health practices.

UNITED NATIONS 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHILDREN 2007
Description:
Collaborated with Ronald McDonald house using chair bound, mid-treatment patients and their families to develop and present a performance piece entitled “Hope” at the Amaturo Theater as part of a free evening of arts celebration for the children of Broward County commemorating the United Nations 50th Anniversary of Children.

F.A.C.T. FESTIVALS 2006-2010
Description:
Annual County festivals for Families Against Crime Together. Opportunity for Heroes Unite participants to perform skills acquired through programming as well as generated advocacy with parents, community and families. Utilized young adults in planning, development and execution for leadership training fulfilling mandatory community service hours.

VICTORY OVER VIOLENCE 2001
Description:
